Birmingham: The 10th Women’s T20 World Cup cricket tournament of the International Cricket Council (ICC) begins in England and Wales on Friday. In the opening match, England and Sri Lanka will face each other.
In this tournament, which concludes on July 5, teams including India, the formidable Australia, England, and defending champions New Zealand will also be in action.
Australia, which has dominated as champions six times, is aiming to win the trophy for the seventh time this year. However, it appears the other teams will not allow that so easily.

If abandoned...
If the semifinal and final matches are affected by rain or other reasons, reserve days have been set aside for them. If the semifinal matches have to be abandoned even on the reserve day, the teams that finished first in each group will qualify directly for the final.
Similarly, if the final is also abandoned on the reserve day, both teams will be declared joint champions.

Usually only 10 teams participate in the T20 World Cup, but this time 12 teams have been included. With Ireland and the Netherlands joining, this is the Netherlands’ debut tournament. For Ireland, this is the 5th time.
