The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee’s state general secretary, Ganapathi Sivakumar, said, “Udhayanidhi calling the Congress movement traitors shows that both the father and son are speaking out of the frustration of not having fulfilled their ambition to become Chief Minister. Congress won only five constituencies solely because it allied with the DMK. We had been bearing the blame for many of the mistakes you made. In this Assembly election, not only have the people of Tamil Nadu been liberated, but the Congress party too has been liberated.”
The coalition parties, including the Congress, were pushed into a situation where they had to become scapegoats for the public’s anger against the DMK’s corrupt rule. When the Congress party pointed out the mistakes made by the DMK government, the DMK was not prepared to correct them. Instead, it began spewing venom at the Congress party. At one point, the DMK was ready to break the Congress party apart.
Who was it that, even before the election, trusted the media’s opinion polls and, in the hope that the DMK would form the government again, allotted only a few seats to alliance partners like the Communist parties, VCK, and MDMK in a big-brother manner, thereby losing coalition dharma? Who was it that worked behind the scenes to prevent TVK from forming the government and to seize power by forming an alliance with the AIADMK? It is precisely because the Congress party, instead of agreeing to those behind-the-scenes efforts, respected the verdict given by the people and extended support to TVK that there is so much hostility toward Congress.
Respecting coalition dharma, representation has now been given to coalition parties in the cabinet. But who was it that, even though the DMK won only 96 seats in the 2006 election, did not give space to coalition parties and enjoyed the comforts of office for five years with the Congress’s support? If one were to list the betrayals committed by the DMK against the Congress party while it was in alliance with the DMK, one would have to write a book. The people of Tamil Nadu know very well who betrayed whom.
Udhayanidhi Stalin should not forget that the DMK won in 19 constituencies by narrow margins only because of the Congress party’s support. If the alliance parties, including the Congress, had not been there in this Assembly election, the people would have driven the DMK to third place. It is only because of the alliance parties that the DMK has retained respectable positions and remains in the opposition status. Otherwise, it would have won only 20 constituencies. Udhayanidhi should stop speaking arrogantly and as if he alone knows everything, at least from now on; otherwise, we will not hesitate to give a strong response,” it was stated.

தேர்தலுக்கு முன்பே ஊடகங்களின் கருத்துக்கணிப்பை நம்பி மீண்டும் தி.மு.க ஆட்சி அமைக்கும் என்ற நப்பாசையில் கம்யூனிஸ்ட், விசிக, மதிமுக போன்ற கூட்டணி கட்சிகளை பெரியண்ணன் மனப்பான்மையில் சொற்ப இடங்களை ஒதுக்கி கூட்டணி தர்மத்தை தொலைத்தது யார்? த.வெ.க ஆட்சி அமைக்க விடாமல், அதிமுகவோடு கூட்டணி அமைத்து ஆட்சியைப் பிடிக்க திரை மறைவு வேலைகளை செய்தது யார்? அந்த திரை மறைவு வேலைகளுக்கு உடன்படாமல் மக்கள் அளித்த தீர்ப்பை மதித்து த.வெ.க-விற்கு காங்கிரஸ் பேரியக்கம் ஆதரவு அளித்ததால் தானே காங்கிரஸ் மீது இவ்வளவு காழ்புணர்ச்சி.
கூட்டணி தர்மத்தை மதித்து கூட்டணி கட்சிகளுக்கு அமைச்சரவையில் பிரதிநிதித்துவம் தற்போது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால், கடந்த 2006ம் ஆண்டு தேர்தலில் 96 இடங்களையே தி.மு.க வென்ற போதும், கூட்டணி கட்சிகளுக்கு இடம் கொடுக்காமல் ஐந்தாண்டுகள் காங்கிரஸ் தயவுடன் பதவி சுகத்தை அனுபவித்தது யார்? தி.மு.கவுடன் கூட்டணியில் இருந்தவரை காங்கிரஸ் கட்சிக்கு தி.மு.க செய்த துரோகங்களை பட்டியலிட்டால் புத்தகம்தான் எழுத வேண்டும். யாருக்கு யார் துரோகம் இழைத்தது என்பதை தமிழக மக்கள் நன்கு அறிவார்கள்.
19 சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதிகளில் குறைந்த வாக்கு வித்தியாசத்தில் வெற்றி தி.மு.க வெற்றி பெற்றது, காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் தயவால்தான் என்பதை உதயநிதி ஸ்டாலின் மறந்துவிட கூடாது. இந்த சட்டமன்ற தேர்தலில் காங்கிரஸ் உள்ளிட்ட கூட்டணி கட்சிகள் இல்லையென்றால் தி.மு.க-வை மூன்றாவது இடத்திற்கு மக்கள் விரட்டியடித்து இருப்பார்கள். கூட்டணி கட்சிகளால் தான் கௌரவமான இடங்களை தக்கவைத்து தி.மு.க எதிர்க்கட்சி அந்தஸ்த்தில் உள்ளது. இல்லையென்றால் 20 தொகுதிகள் மட்டுமே வென்றிருக்கும். இதையெல்லாம் மறந்து தான்தோன்றித்தனமாக பேசுவதை இனிமேலாவது உதயநிதி நிறுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும், இல்லையென்றால் கடுமையான பதிலடி கொடுப்பதற்கு தயங்க மாட்டோம்” என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
