American tennis star Serena Williams, who reversed her decision to retire after four years, won her first match in the women’s doubles event at the Queen’s Club tennis tournament.
The 44-year-old, partnering with 19-year-old Victoria Mboko of Canada, defeated the pair of Erin Routliffe of New Zealand and Nicole Martinez of the United States in straight sets, 7-6 (7/2), 6-2.
In the singles event of the tournament, Americans Amanda Anisimova and Iva Jovic, along with Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic, advanced to the quarterfinals.
