'Gold prices will definitely rise' — this was what many economists thought when the Iran war began.

Since then, gold prices have seen some declines and many rises, and today in Chennai, a gram of gold is being sold at Rs. 14,200, while a sovereign of gold is being sold at Rs. 1,13,600.
As for silver prices, silver that was at Rs. 325 in Chennai is currently being sold at Rs. 270.
In the international market...
On February 27, the day before the war began, an ounce of gold was being sold in the international market for 5,278 dollars.
On March 2, the market day after February 27, the price of gold rose to $5,322.
After that, it gradually declined, and the price of one ounce of gold has now slipped to $4,316.
The price of silver, which was $93.81 per ounce, has fallen to $68.14.
So, this is the right time to invest in gold and silver. However, in India, people have been advised not to buy gold in order to conserve foreign exchange.
Some companies, including HDFC and Tata, have imposed restrictions on investment in gold ETFs.
Whether gold prices will rise immediately after the Iran war ends is the million-dollar question.
Because of the Iran war, crude oil prices are already rising, there is a shortage of fertilizers, which could lead to food shortages, and issues such as LPG cylinder problems are also looming.
Once the war ends, the focus of countries around the world will turn to these factors. Next, inflation, changes in central banks’ interest rates, and similar factors will be taken into account.
Based on that, the rise and fall in gold prices will be determined.
Keep an eye on metals
However, economists say that once the war ends, the prices of metals needed by industries, such as copper, aluminum, and silver, will definitely rise.
The reason is that the war has damaged infrastructure in many countries. Metals will be needed to repair that infrastructure. Because of this, the prices of the metals mentioned above are expected to rise.
As for gold, it does not have much industrial use. Most importantly, not every year will turn out to be 2025.
