BJP leader and former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has said that going to Ayodhya has become difficult for ordinary devotees.
The Ayodhya Ram temple was consecrated in January 2024. The grand temple was inaugurated under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Countless devotees visit this temple every day.
In this situation, the BJP leader has said that it has become difficult for ordinary people to visit the Ayodhya temple. He said that those associated with the Ram temple movement feel that they are being largely ignored today.
After the Ayodhya Ram temple was built, those who played a major role in it are now facing the greatest difficulties. During the construction of the temple, people from Devipatan and Basti divisions, as well as districts surrounding Ayodhya, provided support in the form of money and manpower.
In the past, thousands of devotees used to travel to Ayodhya continuously to worship at temples including Nageshwar Nath and Hanumangarhi.
However, Brij Bhushan Singh alleged that the barricades set up around Ayodhya are now causing problems, and that they are removed only if Rs. 200 is paid.
The BJP leader said that both local and out-of-town people are facing difficulties in the name of security, and that he himself has still not gone to the Ram temple to have darshan.
When even a senior leader like Vinay Katiyar has to undergo identity verification and obtain a permit, imagine what the situation must be for ordinary devotees.
He also said that arrangements for devotees should be simple and convenient, and that public dissatisfaction over security arrangements has affected election results in nearby areas.
Responding to a question about the recent threats issued against him and his son, who is also an MLA, Singh said he did not take them seriously, as such threats are normal in public life. He also said it could be the act of a mentally disturbed person.
He also said that he would continue to raise issues related to the public interest.
