In Madhya Pradesh, the dropout rate in primary schools has fallen to zero over the past three years, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Thursday.
As part of the School Chalo Abhiyan initiative launched to mark the beginning of the new academic year, he visited the Government Sharada Girls Higher Secondary School in Indore.
On that occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with the students and also distributed sweets to them.
Yadav told reporters that it is our good fortune that the dropout rate in primary education in the state has become zero over the past three years.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states in implementing the National Education Policy in both the school and higher education sectors.
Later, Yadav inspected the construction work of IT Industrial Park-3, being developed in Indore at a cost of Rs. 557 crore.
He said that Indore is being developed as a major national hub for the information technology and services sectors through various information technology parks, the Ujjain-Indore metropolitan region plan, and the Indore-Pithampur economic corridor.
He also said that these projects will give new momentum to the digital economy.
In addition, the Chief Minister also inspected the work being carried out under the Jal Ganga scheme in the state government.
