A student who scored 101 out of 100 in the Tamil paper of the Class 10 public examination and was left distressed has demanded an inquiry into the irregularities.
The student, Pugazhendhi, studied at a government-aided school in Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district. In the recently concluded Class 10 public examination, she scored 486 out of 500 and secured the top rank in her school.
When the public examination results were announced, she had scored only 91 marks in Tamil. However, this was lower than the marks she had expected. Shocked by this, the student had applied for a copy of her answer sheet.
In this situation, when the released answer sheet copy was obtained and examined yesterday, it came to light that a major error had occurred.
When the marks were totaled question-wise and page-wise in the student’s Tamil answer sheet, they came to 101.
According to the answers written by the student, she should have received 97 marks, but the teacher who corrected the answer sheet made an error by awarding seven marks each for two five-mark questions.
The three experienced teachers—the person who corrected the answer sheet, the reviewer, and the chief examiner—failed to notice this mistake and recorded the total as 91, entering the same in the marks list as well.
As a result, the student has been deeply shocked. Therefore, a re-examination should be conducted. The affected student has requested that the irregularities that have occurred in this manner be identified and action be taken.

இந்த நிலையில் நேற்று வெளியான விடைத்தாள் நகலைப் பெற்று ஆய்வு செய்தபோது அதில் பெரும் குளறுபடி நடந்திருப்பது வெளிச்சத்திற்கு வந்துள்ளது.
மாணவியின் தமிழ் விடைத்தாளில் வினா மற்றும் பக்கம் வாரியாகவும் மதிப்பெண்களைக் கூட்டிப் பார்த்தபோது 101 மதிப்பெண்கள் என வந்துள்ளது.
மாணவி எழுதிய விடைகளின்படி அவருக்கு 97 மதிப்பெண்கள் வரவேண்டிய நிலையில் விடைத்தாள் திருத்திய ஆசிரியர், இரண்டு ஐந்து மதிப்பெண் வினாக்களுக்கு தலா ஏழு மதிப்பெண்கள் வழங்கி குளறுபடி செய்துள்ளார்.
இந்தத் தவறைக் கவனிக்காத விடைத்தாள் திருத்தியவர், கூர்ந்தாய்வு செய்தவர் மற்றும் தலைமை தேர்வாளர் ஆகிய மூன்று அனுபவம் வாய்ந்த ஆசிரியர்களும் கூட்டுத்தொகையை 91 என்று குறித்து மதிப்பெண் பட்டியலிலும் அதையே பதிவிட்டுள்ளனர்.
இதனால் மாணவி பெரும் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்து உள்ளார். எனவே மீண்டும் மறு ஆய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும். இதுபோல் நடந்துள்ள குளறுபடிகளை கண்டறிந்து நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மாணவி கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளார்.
