The AIADMK alleged that the Tamil Nadu government had released the white paper contrary to legislative convention.
Speaking in the Assembly on Friday under the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, AIADMK member Sampathkumar said that after the date of the Assembly session had been announced, a white paper should not be released in the public domain.
The response given by Finance Minister Marywilson was:
Chief Minister Joseph Vijay announced that we will run the administration in Tamil Nadu honestly, transparently, and without corruption. In continuation of that, he said that on the very first day after taking office, we would release a white paper on the financial situation. It is on that basis that this report has now been released.
He said that during the previous DMK government, the debt burden had risen to an extent not seen in the past 60 years. He added that all the people are welcoming the white paper that has clarified this.
Then, former Chief Minister and AIADMK Legislature Party leader Edappadi Palaniswami intervened and said, “We too welcome the white paper; however, once the session has been announced, the convention is that it must be tabled in the Assembly itself; we are only pointing out that this should be followed.”

சட்டப்பேரவையில் ஆளுநா் உரைக்கு நன்றி தெரிவிக்கும் தீா்மானத்தின் கீழ் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை பேசிய அதிமுக உறுப்பினா் சம்பத்குமாா், பேரவைக் கூட்டத் தொடா் தேதி அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு, பொது வெளியில் வெள்ளை அறிக்கை வெளியிடக் கூடாது என்றாா்.

தமிழகத்தில் நோ்மையாகவும், வெளிப்படைத் தன்மையுடனும், ஊழல் இல்லாமலும் ஆட்சி நிா்வாகத்தை நடத்துவோம் என முதல்வா் ஜோசப் விஜய் அறிவித்தாா். அதன் தொடா்ச்சியாகத்தான் பதவியற்ற முதல் நாளிலேயே நிதிநிலை அறிக்கை குறித்த வெள்ளை அறிக்கையை வெளியிடுவோம் என்றாா். அதன் அடிப்படையிலேயே தற்போது அந்த அறிக்கை வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
கடந்த திமுக ஆட்சியில் 60 ஆண்டுகளில் இல்லாத அளவுக்கு கடன் தொகை உயா்ந்திருக்கிறது. அதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்தியிருக்கும் வெள்ளை அறிக்கையை மக்கள் அனைவரும் வரவேற்கிறாா்கள் என்றாா்.
அப்போது குறுக்கிட்ட முன்னாள் முதல்வரும், அதிமுக பேரவைக் குழுத் தலைவருமான எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி, ‘வெள்ளை அறிக்கையை நாங்களும் வரவேற்கிறோம்; ஆனால், கூட்டத் தொடா் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டால், பேரவையில்தான் அதைத் தாக்கல் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பது மரபு; அதைப் பின்பற்றுமாறுதான் குறிப்பிடுகிறோம்’ என்றாா்.
