The Iranian government has accused President Donald Trump of trying to deflect attention from the U.S. forces’ attack on Indian ships.
In the Hormuz Strait region, three Indian sailors were killed in a drone attack carried out by U.S. forces on Indian ships last Thursday (June 11). International countries have also condemned this attack.
While the U.S. Navy admitted to carrying out the attack on Indian ships, President Trump’s post on Friday (June 12) evening claiming that Iranian forces carried out the attack raised suspicion.
In this situation, the Iranian Embassy in India said today (June 13) that President Trump is trying to deflect attention from the attack on Indian ships, and that his allegation is completely baseless.
Regarding this, in a post on X issued by the Iranian Embassy,
“The allegation by the U.S. President that Iran carried out attacks on Indian ships in the Strait of Hormuz is completely baseless.
This is an attempt to divert attention from the fact that three innocent Indian sailors were killed in a U.S. attack on three Indian ships. That is very unfortunate,” it said.
