Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inquire with both the 20 disgruntled Trinamool Congress MPs who joined the Nationalist Citizens’ Party (NCPI) and members of party chief Mamata Banerjee’s camp before deciding whether to approve it, sources in his office said.
After the defeat in the West Bengal Assembly election, Mamata-led Trinamool Congress has been facing severe internal divisions.
