With the Tamil Nadu and Kerala assembly elections approaching soon, Prime Minister Modi will tour the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala tomorrow (March 11, 2026). During this trip, he will lay the foundation stones for new projects worth a total of Rs. 16,450 crore and inaugurate completed projects in both states. According to the released information, "Tomorrow at 1:30 PM, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate projects worth Rs. 10,800 crore at an event in Ernakulam, Kerala. He will also lay the foundation stone for the 'Polypropylene' production unit worth Rs. 5,500 crore at the BPCL refinery in Kochi."
He is inaugurating the NH-66 road project worth Rs. 2,650 crore and the Kozhikode bypass road projects. Additionally, he is launching the electrified railway line from Shoranur to Nilambur and inaugurating a new train service between Palakkad and Pollachi. After completing his visit to Kerala, Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Tiruchirappalli at 5:45 PM, where he will inaugurate various projects worth Rs. 5,650 crore at an event. In the Nilgiris and Erode districts, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the City Gas distribution infrastructure project with an investment of Rs. 3,680 crore. This will provide piped natural gas connections to approximately 880,000 households.
He is dedicating the Indian Oil Corporation's (IOCL) Lube Blending Plant, built at a cost of Rs. 1,490 crore in Chennai Manali, to the nation. The Prime Minister is flagging off two Amrit Bharat Express trains and three new train services from Modi Tamil Nadu to Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and East India. Under the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Scheme (PMGSY), he is inaugurating 89 rural roads spanning 370 km in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, he is laying the foundation stone for a new bypass road near Gangai Konda Cholapuram.
