He further said in this regard, “I authorize the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without any customs duties. I also order the immediate withdrawal of the blockade imposed by the U.S. Navy,” he posted.
At the same time, Trump has clarified that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened next Friday after the peace agreement is officially signed. The agreement was finalized on the day Trump celebrated his 80th birthday.
With officials saying that this peace agreement will be signed in Switzerland on June 19, Trump’s announcement has eased the pressure that had been prevailing in global energy markets.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had said that a peace agreement between the two countries would be finalized within the next 24 hours, and now that agreement has been finalized.
