BJP state president Nainar Nagendran met reporters and spoke at Kamalalayam in Chennai. He answered the questions asked by the reporters. There is a situation where even after going to the police station and asking for protection by saying, “I am under threat, please protect me,” no security is provided. Instead of speaking calmly and addressing policy-related issues in the Assembly, the Chief Minister speaks like a villainous character. He did not say anything about the assistance given to the police force, the funds allocated, anti-drug measures, or the data on how murders were brought under control.

By-elections have now been announced for the Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies. The candidates who won just three months ago on behalf of one alliance resigned from office, switched parties due to the horse-trading of T.V.K., and the same individuals have once again been fielded as candidates. This election is unnecessary. It is a wasteful expense for both the parties and the government. Voters in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram areas should ask why this by-election has come about. In this by-election, on behalf of the National Democratic Alliance, the BJP will work fully for the victory of the AIADMK candidates.

When Jayalalithaa was Chief Minister, when a plan was prepared and approval sought to build a new Secretariat on the Queen Mary’s College land, in a structure surpassing the Karnataka Vidhana Soudha building, the then Central government stood in the way. But now they have announced that a new Secretariat will be built in Pattinapakkam at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,200 crore. When the new Parliament building itself was built for Rs. 900 crore, setting an estimate higher than that will lead to massive corruption.

They say the Chief Minister’s house is in Pattinapakkam. To build a structure covering 20 lakh square feet, at least 45 acres of land are needed, but only 25 acres are available there. Putting out an estimate without any planning or blueprint suggests ulterior motives. More than 10,000 students and thousands of families live there. It is a tsunami-affected area and also suffers from severe traffic congestion. Therefore, instead of Pattinapakkam, an elegant building should be constructed on the 35 acres of land in Guindy with the help of the best experts.

Saying this government is a "secular alliance" is a huge lie. The Speaker comes to the Assembly with a rosary and quotes the Bible. He has never quoted the Bhagavad Gita or the Quran in that way. There is nothing wrong with the Chief Minister saying he is a Christian, but is he the Chief Minister only for Christians, or for all people? The Finance Minister, the Speaker, and the Chief Minister are all acting with religious bias, and claiming to be a secular government while calling themselves a minority government is completely false.
