With the NEET exam held in May having been cancelled due to allegations of a question paper leak, and a re-exam scheduled to be held on Sunday, the 21st, the allocation of an exam center in Abu Dhabi to a Nagpur student has caused severe shock.
A student named Abdullah Mohammed Talib from Nagpur in Maharashtra, who had been preparing for the NEET re-exam, downloaded his NEET re-exam admit card from the website. He was shocked to see that the exam center listed on it was Abu Dhabi.
Reacting to this, Rahul Gandhi said that a student from Nagpur had been preparing for the NEET (NEET) re-exam for a month.
He downloaded his admit card only the day before the exam. That was when he learned that the exam center assigned to him was in Abu Dhabi.
He did not have a passport, his family did not have the financial means to send him abroad, and there was not enough time to make travel arrangements. He cried throughout the night; now he is refusing even to take the exam—can you imagine the mental distress this causes?
How did this happen? No student should have had to face the problem of being unable to reach the exam center. In fact, it seems as though the NTA (National Testing Agency) is testing the country’s students and their parents.
An organization that cannot even assign a student an exam center in the city where they live, but can send them abroad, has no right to conduct examinations.
I said the same thing in Kota too—this is no longer an educational institution. It is nothing but an operation that steals an entire generation’s money, time, and peace of mind.
