With some state-level functionaries having resigned from Makkal Needhi Maiam, the party’s state secretary Murali Abbas spoke to reporters today.

Our general secretary has been working for the party without even going to his own hometown. The allegations made against him are baseless.
This alliance (DMK - MNM) was not formed in anticipation of the 2026 election. This alliance was formed during the 2024 parliamentary election itself. The DMK government has implemented many of the ideas and plans put forward by our leader. In particular, schemes such as the women’s rights allowance are an example of that.
Election results have repeatedly overturned the predictions made by political experts about who would win and who would lose. Unable to accept the election results, some people have left the party and are making baseless accusations. We strongly condemn that.
Our leader has already said, “As long as I am alive, I will be in politics.” As long as there are people, Makkal Needhi Maiam will also exist. Kamal Haasan will continue as the party’s leader, founder, and representative. There is no change in that.
Some people have left without properly understanding this party, which has been functioning for eight years, or grasping the leader’s intent. In the long journey of a political party, ups and downs, gaps, and challenges are natural.
But Makkal Needhi Maiam will continue to function. The party has strong leadership. The leader has the ability to take his ideas and views to the people. The government is also in a position to listen to the views he expresses. We are confident that Makkal Needhi Maiam will secure an important place in the future,” Murali Abbas said.

யார் வெற்றி பெறுவார்கள், யார் தோல்வியடைவார்கள் என்று அரசியல் நிபுணர்கள் கணித்த கருத்துகளையே தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் பலமுறை மாற்றியுள்ளன. தேர்தல் முடிவுகளை தாங்கிக்கொள்ள முடியாமல் சிலர் கட்சியில் இருந்து விலகி, தேவையற்ற பழிகளைச் சுமத்திச் செல்கின்றனர். அதை நாங்கள் வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறோம்.
எங்கள் தலைவர் ஏற்கெனவே ‘நான் உயிரோடு இருக்கும் வரை அரசியலில் இருப்பேன்’ என்று கூறியுள்ளார். மக்கள் இருக்கும் வரை மக்கள் நீதி மய்யமும் இருக்கும். கட்சியின் தலைவர், நிறுவனர் மற்றும் பிரதிநிதியாக கமல்ஹாசன் தொடர்வார். அதில் எந்த மாற்றமும் இல்லை.
எட்டு ஆண்டுகளாகச் செயல்பட்டு வரும் இந்தக் கட்சியை சரியாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ளாமல், தலைவரின் நோக்கத்தை உணராமல் சிலர் விலகியுள்ளனர். ஓர் அரசியல் கட்சியின் நீண்ட பயணத்தில் ஏற்றத் தாழ்வுகள், இடைவெளிகள், சவால்கள் இருப்பது இயல்பானது.
ஆனால் மக்கள் நீதி மய்யம் தொடர்ந்து செயல்படும். கட்சிக்கு வலிமையான தலைமை உள்ளது. மக்களிடம் தனது சிந்தனைகளையும் கருத்துகளையும் கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் ஆற்றல் தலைவருக்கு இருக்கிறது. அவர் கூறும் கருத்துகளைக் கேட்கும் நிலையில் அரசாங்கமும் உள்ளது. எதிர்காலத்தில் மக்கள் நீதி மய்யம் முக்கியமான இடத்தைப் பெறும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எங்களுக்கு உள்ளது” என்று முரளி அப்பாஸ் தெரிவித்தார்.
