At that point, an intoxicated Kadalpandi, around 10 p.m., swiftly climbed up like “Spider-Man,” gripping the rainwater harvesting pipe in the complex building at the Periyar bus stand in Madurai.
Saying that his wife should bring their son back to live with him and that his wife should come there, he climbed from one floor to the next while hanging onto the pipe.
After seeing this, members of the public informed the Thideernagar police, following which the police called in the fire and rescue department from Periyar Bus Stand.
Following this, fire and rescue personnel struggled for more than an hour, pleading with him to come down and negotiating with him, but he refused to descend, saying, `My wife is in Avaniyapuram.
She must be brought here. Otherwise, I will jump,' and continued hanging there while breaking the glass in the window and using it to cut and injure his body, issuing a suicide threat.
When the police asked where his wife was, he tested the patience of the police and firefighters by saying, “In Avaniyapuram, if you say ‘Pandi Kadal’s wife,’ they’ll know—call her here.”
Firefighters also stood by with a net spread out, in case he jumped down.
Following this, after a long struggle, firefighters who climbed up to Pandi Kadal, who was intoxicated, pulled him through the window in a moment and rescued him.
Following this, Pandikadal, who had injuries all over his body, was sent to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital for treatment.
Fire and rescue personnel and the police struggled for several hours because of the Spider-Man stunt performed by an intoxicated Pandikadal.

தனது மனைவி மகனை தன்னோடு சேர்த்துவைக்க வேண்டும்; மனைவி இங்கு வர வேண்டும் என கூறியபடி அடுத்தடுத்த தளங்களுக்கு குழாயில் தொங்கியபடி ஏறினார்.
இதனை பார்த்த பொதுமக்கள் திடீர்நகர் காவல்துறையினருக்கு தகவல் அளித்த நிலையில் காவல்துறையினர் பெரியார் பேருந்து நிலைய தீயணைப்புத்துறையினரை வரவழைத்தனர்.
இதனை தொடர்ந்து தீயணைப்புத்துறையினர் ஒரு மணி நேரத்திற்கு மேலாக போராடி கீழே இறங்குமாறு கெஞ்சியும், பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்திய நிலையில் இறங்க மறுத்து, `தனது மனைவி அவனியாபுரத்தில் உள்ளார்.
அவரை அழைத்துவர வேண்டும். இல்லையென்றால் குதித்துவிடுவேன்’ என தொடர்ந்து கூறியபடியே தொங்கியதோடு ஜன்னலில் உள்ள கண்ணாடிகளை உடைத்து அதை வைத்து உடலை கிழித்துகொண்டு காயப்படுத்தியபடி தற்கொலை மிரட்டல் விடுத்துள்ளார்.
மனைவி எங்கு உள்ளார் என காவல்துறையினர் கேட்ட போது அவனியாபுரத்துல ‘பாண்டிகடல்னு பொண்டாட்டினு சொன்னா தெரியும் இங்கு கூப்டு வாங்க’ என கூறி காவல்துறையினர், தீயணைப்புத்துறையினரின் பொறுமையை சோதித்து பார்த்தார்.
மேலும் கீழே குதித்துவிடுவார் என்பதற்காக தீயணைப்புதுறையினரும் வலையை விரித்தபடி காத்திருந்தனர்.
இதனை தொடர்ந்து மதுபோதையில் இருந்த பாண்டிகடலை நீண்ட நேர போராட்டத்திற்கு மேல ஏறிய தீயணைப்புத்துறையினர் நொடிப்பொழுதில் ஜன்னல் வழியாக இழுத்து காப்பாற்றி மீட்டனர்.
இதனை தொடர்ந்து உடல் முழுவதும் காயங்களுடன் இருந்த பாண்டிகடலை மதுரை அரசு ராஜாஜி மருத்துவமனைக்கு சிகிச்சைக்காக அனுப்பிவைத்தனர்.
மதுபோதையில் இருந்த பாண்டிகடல் செய்த ஸ்பைடர்மேன் சாகசத்தால் பல மணி நேரமாக தீயணைப்புத்துறையினரும், காவல்துறையினரும் போராடி தவித்தனர்.
