In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress suffered defeat in the recently held legislative assembly election. This defeat has left the party in turmoil. A majority of the winning MLAs have raised the banner of revolt against the Trinamool Congress party. Instead of attending the MLAs’ meeting convened by Mamata Banerjee, they held their own meeting at a hotel and discussed appointing their own Leader of the Opposition.
After the election, to appoint the Leader of the Opposition, Mamata Banerjee convened a meeting of her party MLAs and decided in that meeting to appoint Sovanthip as the Leader of the Opposition. In this regard, the Trinamool Congress formally sent a letter to the Speaker.
In that letter, Abhishek Banerjee had signed in his capacity as the party's general secretary. However, the Speaker returned the letter, asking them to send it again along with the details of the meeting and the signatures of the MLAs.
On May 13 and 14, the MLAs took oath. After taking the oath, they signed the register there. On May 19, Mamata Banerjee had convened a meeting of her party MLAs to collect their signatures. However, most of the MLAs boycotted the meeting and did not attend. Even so, the party leadership sent the Speaker a letter signed by 70 MLAs.
In that letter, some people’s signatures were in large letters. Some signatures had only initials. This raised suspicion about the signatures. Following this, when the Trinamool Congress MLAs came to take oath in the assembly, their signatures were compared with the signatures provided by the Trinamool Congress side. Of these, 20 signatures did not match. Following this, the Assembly Speaker filed a police complaint, alleging forgery in the signatures.
On May 27, Trinamool Congress MLAs Ritabrata and Sandipan formally filed a complaint, saying that their signatures had been forged. This further deepened Mamata Banerjee’s troubles. CID police began investigating the case related to this. In addition, Abhishek Banerjee was sent a summons to appear for questioning in this matter.
In an interview given by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on this, he said, "The Trinamool Congress has deceived even its own party MLAs. CID officers went to speak with 13 of the 14 legislators who had signed in block letters. Three of those legislators admitted in front of the camera that they had not signed that resolution."
Following this issue, the Trinamool Congress expelled Rithabrata and Sandipan from the party, saying they had been involved in anti-party activities. Although the party did not publicly state the reason for this, it is said that they were involved in a plot to form a faction within the party against Abhishek.
Trinamool Congress thought that if two people were removed, the other MLAs could be prevented from switching sides. But Ritabrata acted swiftly, gathered the dissatisfied MLAs, held a consultative meeting at a hotel, and brought them together. As a result, 60 of the total 80 MLAs did not attend the meeting convened by Mamata Banerjee at her home. Now Trinamool Congress is facing the prospect of a split similar to the one that occurred in Shiv Sena.

அக்கடிதத்தில் சிலரது கையெழுத்து பெரிய எழுத்தில் இருந்தது. சிலரது கையெழுத்தில் இனிசியல் மட்டும் இருந்தது. இதனால் கையெழுத்தில் சந்தேகம் ஏற்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்கள் சட்டமன்றத்தில் பதவியேற்க வந்தபோது போட்ட கையெழுத்துடன் திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் தரப்பில் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட கையெழுத்தை ஒப்பிட்டுப்பார்த்தனர். இதில் 20 கையெழுத்துகள் ஒத்துப்போகவில்லை. இதையடுத்து கையெழுத்தில் மோசடி என்று கூறி சட்டமன்ற சபாநாயகர் போலீஸில் புகார் செய்தார்.

இப்பிரச்னையைத் தொடர்ந்து கட்சிக்கு எதிரான நடவடிக்கைகளில் ஈடுபட்டதாகக் கூறி, ரிதப்ரதா மற்றும் சந்திபன் ஆகியோரை திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியிலிருந்து நீக்கியது. இதற்கான காரணத்தை அக்கட்சி வெளிப்படையாக அறிவிக்கவில்லை என்றாலும், கட்சிக்குள் அபிஷேக்கிற்கு எதிரான ஓர் அணியை உருவாக்கும் சதியில் அவர்கள் ஈடுபட்டிருந்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
இரண்டு பேரை நீக்கிவிட்டால் மற்ற எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்கள் அணி மாறுவதை தடுத்துவிடலாம் என்று திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் கருதியது. ஆனால் ரிதப்ரதா அதிரடியாகச் செயல்பட்டு அதிருப்தி எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்களை திரட்டி ஹோட்டலில் ஆலோசனைக் கூட்டம் நடத்தி அவர்களை ஒன்று திரட்டிவிட்டார். இதனால் மம்தா பானர்ஜி தனது வீட்டில் கூட்டிய கூட்டத்திற்கு மொத்தமுள்ள 80 பேரில் 60 எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் கலந்து கொள்ளவில்லை. இப்போது சிவசேனாவில் ஏற்பட்டது போன்ற ஒரு பிளவை திரிணாமுல் காங்கிரஸ் எதிர்நோக்கி இருக்கிறது.
