The central government has been actively supporting women’s self-help groups. Prime Minister Modi has said that this plays a major role in empowering women with economic independence.
Modi, who is serving as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term, completed 4,399 days in office on June 10. Following this, he surpassed Nehru’s record of being the longest-serving Prime Minister continuously elected by the people.
Modi also holds records such as being the first Prime Minister born after the country’s independence and the country’s longest-serving head of government.
