Aakash Delison (26), the son of Rajeshkannan and Ananthi, residents of Krishnarajapuram Colony in Manamadurai, Sivaganga district, had gone to the police for questioning in connection with a criminal case.
Subsequently, Aakash Delison was admitted to Madurai Government Hospital, claiming that he had sustained injuries.
He was undergoing treatment there, but died without responding to treatment. The postmortem revealed that Aakash Delison had a total of 28 external and internal injuries on his body.
In connection with Akash's death, a murder case and a case under the SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act were registered and investigated. Later, six people were suspended from service: Thiruppuvanam Inspector Dileeban, Manamadurai Assistant Inspector Gugan, Sivagangai Town Head Constable Dheivendran, SIPCOT Head Constable Sarathkumar, Manamadurai First Grade Constable Kaaliswaran, and Thiruppuvanam First Grade Constable Manoharan.
Following this, the CBCID police conducted an investigation by questioning more than 20 people, including the doctors who treated Akash, the doctors who performed the postmortem, and the police officers on duty at the station.
Meanwhile, in Akash Delison’s case, Akash’s father Rajesh Kannan had filed a petition in the Madurai Bench, raising several demands, including that all six police officers be arrested, compensation of Rs. 50 lakh be paid, and a case be registered against the concerned police officers under the SC-ST Act.
Meanwhile, Akash Delison’s parents and relatives had been continuing their protest, refusing to receive his body. As a result, Akash Delison’s body had been kept safely in the mortuary of Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital for the past 102 days.
Even after the court, in a case filed in the High Court, said that Akash Delison’s family should take his body and bury it, they continued their protest.
Meanwhile, during the hearing on the petition yesterday evening, the court had ordered permission to bury Akash Delison’s body with dignity under the arrangements of the District Collector, Commissioner, and the hospital dean.
This morning, in the presence of Revenue Divisional Officer Karunakaran and Government Rajaji Hospital medical officer Saravanan, video and photographic documentation of Akash Delison’s body was carried out in the mortuary area of Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital.
Following this, before Akash Delison’s body was taken to the Dattaneri crematorium, Akash Delison’s parents and relatives engaged in an argument with the police. Because of this, they were forcibly loaded into a police vehicle and taken away. As the family members shouted, the situation became tense.
Later, under heavy police security, Akash Delison’s body was taken by ambulance to the Dattaneri crematorium in Madurai. Then Revenue Divisional Officer Karunakaran placed a garland on Akash Delison’s body. Following this, Akash Delison’s parents were brought to the Dattaneri crematorium, after which they saw Akash Delison’s body and cried out in grief.
Before the body was cremated, the authorities showed the fingers after the parents requested the police to ensure that there were six fingers on the hand to confirm whether it was indeed Akash Delison’s body.
Later, Akash Delison’s body was cremated at the Tatthaneri electric crematorium.
Aakash Delison’s mother, Ananthi, looked at the police and cried out, “You don’t have the courage to arrest those who killed Aakash; everyone who killed my son will be destroyed... Those responsible for his death will surely suffer,” and, weeping bitterly, she threw dust toward the police and left, venting her anger.
After 102 days, Aakash Delison’s body was cremated at the Tatthaneri electric crematorium in accordance with a High Court order.

இந்நிலையில் ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் வழக்கில் காவல்துறையினர் 6 பேரையும் கைதுசெய்ய வேண்டும், 50 லட்ச ரூபாய் இழப்பீட்டை வழங்க வேண்டும், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காவல்துறையினர் மீது எஸ்.சி – எஸ்.டி பிரிவின் கீழ் வழக்குப் பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு கோரிக்கைகளை முன்வைத்து ஆகாஷின் தந்தை ராஜேஷ்க ண்ணன் மதுரை அமர்வில் மனுத்தாக்கல் செய்திருந்தார்.
இதனிடையே ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடலை வாங்கமறுத்து பெற்றோர் மற்றும் உறவினர்கள் தொடர்ந்து போராட்டம் நடத்தி வந்தனர். இதன் காரணமாக கடந்த 102 நாள்களாக ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடல் மதுரை அரசு ராஜாஜி மருத்துவமனைப் பிணவறையில் பாதுகாப்பாக வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடரப்பட்டிருந்த நிலையில், ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடலை குடும்பத்தினர் வாங்கி அடக்கம் செய்ய நீதிமன்றம் கூறிய பின்னரும், தொடர்ந்து போராட்டம் நடத்திவந்தனர்.
இதனிடையே நேற்று மாலை மனு மீதான விசாரணையின்போது ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடலை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர், ஆணையர், மருத்துவமனை முதல்வர் ஏற்பாட்டில் கண்ணியத்துடன் அடக்கம் செய்வதற்கான அனுமதி வழங்கி உத்தரவிட்டிருந்தது, நீதிமன்றம்.
இன்று காலை கோட்டாட்சியர் கருணாகரன், அரசு ராஜாஜி மருத்துவமனை மருத்துவ அலுவலர் சரவணன் ஆகியோர் முன்பாக மதுரை அரசு ராஜாஜி மருத்துவமனைப் பிணவறை பகுதியில் உள்ள ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடல் வீடியோ மற்றும் புகைப்படம் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.
இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் உடலை தத்தனேரி மயானத்திற்கு எடுத்துச் செல்வதற்கு முன்பாக ஆகாஷ் டெலிசனின் பெற்றோர் மற்றும் உறவினர்கள் காவல்துறையினரிடம் வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இதன் காரணமாக அவர்களை வலுக்கட்டாயமாக காவல்துறை வாகனத்தில் ஏற்றி அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். அப்போது குடும்பத்தினர் கூச்சலிட்டதால், பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.
