Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, who stunned Spain, has become a huge star overnight.
In the H group match of the FIFA World Cup held yesterday (June 15) at the Atlanta stadium in Georgia, USA, the football team of the tiny nation of Cape Verde faced the star-studded European champions Spain.

Young star player Lamine Yamal, who came on in the 70th minute, continued the attack in his own style. In the 88th minute, Michael Oyarzabal tried to turn a pass from Yamal into a goal. But Cape Verde players stopped it at the last second.
As the match was nearing its end, Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón stopped a shot from Cape Verde player Diney Borges that was headed toward the goalpost. Otherwise, it would have shocked the champion team, Spain.

At the age of 40, Vozinha earned the distinction of being the second-oldest player to make his World Cup debut.
Former Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, who was 45 years old when he took part in the 2018 tournament, holds the distinction of being the oldest player to participate in a FIFA football tournament.
