M.S.M. Anandan was one of the second-tier leaders of the AIADMK. Coming from a family with an agricultural and business background, he first contested the legislative assembly election in 2011 on behalf of the AIADMK from the Tiruppur North constituency and won.
He later won the Palladam Assembly constituency in the 2021 election. In the cabinet led by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he served as the Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, and later as the Minister for Forests.
Having been with the AIADMK for a long time, he has also held important positions, including the party’s propaganda secretary.
In this election, he contested in the Tiruppur North constituency and suffered a heavy defeat to the TVK candidate by a large margin of votes. It is in this situation that he has now left the AIADMK and joined TVK.
