Five soldiers were killed in a crash involving an Indian Air Force aircraft in Assam.
The accident occurred today at 11 a.m. at the Jorhat Air Force base in Assam.
The transport aircraft, an AN-32 used by the Air Force, reportedly exploded and crashed shortly after landing on the runway.
As the aircraft caught fire and burned, the 5 soldiers on board were reported to have died a heroic death. One co-pilot on the aircraft survived by jumping out.
An inquiry has been ordered into the Air Force aircraft accident.
The Indian Air Force has expressed deep condolences to the air force personnel who died a heroic death. It also stated that it will stand by their families during this difficult time.
In the preliminary investigation, it has been reported that shortly after the aircraft landed within the air force base’s runway area, the plane caught fire. Firefighters who rushed to the scene reportedly battled the blaze and brought it under control.
The personnel who died a heroic death in this plane crash have been identified as Prashant Singh, Shubham Kumar, Jitendra Sharma, and Agniveervayu personnel Kameram Kumawat and Danish Alam.

அசாமில் இந்திய விமானப் படைக்குச் சொந்தமான விமானம் விபத்துக்குள்ளானதில் 5 வீரர்கள் உயிரிந்தனர்.
அசாம் மாநிலம் ஜோர்கட் விமானப் படைத் தளத்தில் இன்று முற்பகல் 11 மணிக்கு இந்த விபத்து நேரிட்டிருக்கிறது.
விமானப் படையில், போக்குவரத்துக்காகப் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் ஏன்-32 ரக விமானம், இறங்குதளத்தில் தரையிறங்கிய சிறிது நேரத்தில் வெடித்து விபத்துக்குள்ளாகியிருக்கிறது.
விமானம் தீப்பற்றி எரிந்த நிலையில், அதில் இருந்த 5 வீரர்கள் வீர மரணம் அடைந்ததாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. விமானத்தில் இருந்த துணை விமானி ஒருவர், வெளியே குதித்து உயிர் தப்பியிருக்கிறார்.
விமானப் படை விமான விபத்து குறித்து விசாரணைக்கு உத்தரவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
வீர மரணம் அடைந்த விமானப் படை வீரர்களுக்கு ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கலைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்வதாக இந்திய விமானப் படை தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இந்தக் கடினமான நேரத்தில், அவர்களது குடும்பத்தினருக்கு உறுதுணையாக இருப்போம் என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.
முதற்கட்ட விசாரணையில், விமானப் படை தளத்தின் இறங்குதளத்துக்குள் விமானம் தரையிறங்கிய சிறிது நேரத்திலேயே விமானம் தீப்பற்றி எரிந்திருக்கிறது. சம்பவ இடத்துக்கு விரைந்து வந்த தீயணைப்புத் துறையினர் போராடி தீயை கட்டுப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த விமான விபத்தில் வீர மரணம் அடைந்த வீரர்கள் பிரசாந்த் சிங், ஷுபம் குமார், ஜிதேந்திர ஷர்மா, அக்னிவீர்வாயு வீரர்கள் கேமரம் குமாவத், தனிஷ் ஆலம் என்று அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
