Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Slovakia, was welcomed in the country’s traditional manner with bread and salt.
With this, Prime Minister Modi has earned the distinction of being the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Slovakia after it gained independence in 1993.
Prime Minister Modi began a week-long official visit to the European countries of France and Slovakia on Saturday.
He held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday. Prime Minister Modi discussed innovation, trade, investment, sustainable development, security, culture, and people-to-people ties.
Following this, Prime Minister Modi traveled to Slovakia today (June 15). In the capital, Bratislava, he was given an enthusiastic welcome with the singing of Vande Mataram.
Similarly, on behalf of Slovakia, he was welcomed in the traditional manner with bread and salt.

Why was bread and salt offered?
In Slovakia, offering bread symbolizes the country’s prosperity and abundance. It is also given with the traditional intention that a guest arriving in the country should not remain hungry.
Similarly, to express respect, friendship, and trust toward guests, they are welcomed with bread and salt.
In addition, they welcomed Prime Minister Modi with folk dances set to Slovakia’s traditional music. Children dressed in traditional colorful attire performed the dance. Prime Minister Modi enjoyed watching it.
Following this, people gathered at the entrance of the hotel in Bratislava where Prime Minister Modi was staying welcomed him by chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

ரொட்டி – உப்பு கொடுத்தது ஏன்?
ஸ்லோவாக்கியாவில் ரொட்டி கொடுப்பது, அந்நாட்டின் வளம் மற்றும் மிகுதியைக் குறிக்கிறது. அதுமட்டுமின்றி நாட்டிற்கு வரும் விருந்தினர் பசியுடன் இருக்கக் கூடாது என்ற பாரம்பரிய நோக்கத்திற்காகக் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது.
