The motion of thanks on the Governor’s address is underway in the House. At that time, a heated debate took place between Minister Arun Raj and former Minister Sivashankar.
Speaking, Minister Arun Raj said, “They say there is only a difference of 17 lakh votes between the DMK and us.
How can the votes won by TVK standing alone be compared with the votes won by the DMK standing together?
Every vote cast for us was cast for Chief Minister Vijay.”
He said, "The votes that fell for the DMK, which formed a multi-party alliance... will also go to their alliance."
Responding to this, Sivashankar said, "It is only because of those who stood with us that your government is even running. We will now even stand alone. Are you prepared to say that you will also stand alone from now on?"
Following this, former minister Sivashankar made several criticisms of the TVK government.

இதற்கு பதில் கூறிய சிவசங்கர், ‘எங்களோடு நின்றவர்களால்தான் உங்களின் ஆட்சியே ஓடுகிறது. நாங்கள் இனி தனித்து கூட நிற்போம். நீங்கள் இனியும் தனித்து நிற்போம் என சொல்ல தயாரா?’ என எதிர்வினை ஆற்றினார்.
தொடர்ந்து முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் சிவசங்கர் தவெக ஆட்சியின் மீது நிறைய விமர்சனங்களை முன்வைத்தார்.
