TVK leader Vijay has announced that a Rajya Sabha seat has been allotted to the alliance partner Congress.
Following the resignation of AIADMK’s C.V. Shanmugam from his MP post, a by-election has been announced for that Rajya Sabha seat.
While the Congress side had demanded that the seat be given to Congress, TVK leader Vijay has allotted the Rajya Sabha seat to the alliance partner Congress.
In this context, in the statement he has issued regarding this, it is mentioned that "in the election for the Rajya Sabha member to be elected from Tamil Nadu on the 18th of this month, a Rajya Sabha seat has been allotted to the All India Congress Party, which is part of the alliance led by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu."
The election for the vacant seat created following C.V. Shanmugam's resignation will be held on the 18th. It is noteworthy that the term of office runs until June 2028."

இந்நிலையில் இதுதொடர்பாக அவர் வெளியிட்டிருக்கும் அறிக்கையில், “இம்மாதம் 18ஆம் தேதி தமிழ்நாட்டில் இருந்து தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட உள்ள மாநிலங்களவை (Rajya Sabha) உறுப்பினருக்கான தேர்தலில், தமிழ்நாட்டில் தமிழக வெற்றிக கழகம் தலைமையிலான கூட்டணியில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள அகில இந்திய காங்கிரஸ் கட்சிக்கு மாநிலங்களவை உறுப்பினர் (Rajya Sabha Seaf) இடம் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது” என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
சி.வி.சண்முகம் பதவி விலகியதை அடுத்து ஏற்பட்ட காலி இடத்துக்கான தேர்தல் 18-ம் தேதி நடைபெறவுள்ளது. இதன் பதவிக் காலம் 2028 ஜூன் மாதம் வரை உள்ளது” என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
