On the occasion of Vanchinathan’s memorial day, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said in a post on the "X" platform: On the memorial day of freedom fighter and martyr Vanchinathan, I offered floral tributes to him at the Vice President’s residence.
He was the one who stood fearlessly against foreign domination and the brutal measures taken by the British to suppress the Swadeshi movement.
The British Collector of Tirunelveli district, who avenged the oppression carried out against freedom fighters at Maniyachi railway station and sacrificed his own life for the nation.
His unparalleled courage, patriotism, and selfless sacrifice served as an inspiration to countless warriors involved in India’s freedom struggle. On this day, let us all gratefully remember and honor the fame and struggle-filled life of martyr Vanchinathan, noted Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan.
