In the legislative assembly election in the Kinathukadavu constituency, Sabari Karthikeyan contested for DMK, Se. Damodharan for AIADMK, Vignesh for DMDK, and Pannupriya for NDK. Out of the 305,878 voters in this constituency, 266,349 people voted. In this situation, during the vote counting held yesterday, DMDK candidate Vignesh consistently maintained the lead in all rounds. At the end of the vote count, Vignesh, who received 99,950 votes, won by a margin of 11,710 votes. With this, DMDK recorded its first victory in Coimbatore. Sabari Karthikeyan of DMK, who received 88,240 votes, secured the second place.
A.D.M.K. candidate Se. Thamotharan, who received 67,789 votes, secured the third place. Se. Thamotharan, a former A.D.M.K. minister who won this constituency four times, has been pushed to third place. In previous elections held in this constituency, A.D.M.K. has won 9 times and D.M.K. 4 times. Notably, the continuous winning streak of A.D.M.K. since 2001 has come to an end. Vignesh (38) from Machampalayam near Sundarapuram in Vigneshkovai is a B.Sc. Computer Science graduate and runs a CCTV camera sales shop. He has been working with the Vijay Makkal Mandram for over 10 years.

சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலில் கிணத்துக்கடவு தொகுதியில் தி.மு.க-வில் சபரி கார்த்திகேயன், அ.தி.மு.க-வில் செ.தமோதரன், த.வெ.க-வில் விக்னேஷ், நா.த.க-வில் பானுப்பிரியா போட்டியிட்டனர்.
இத்தொகுதியில் உள்ள 3 லட்சத்து 5 ஆயிரத்து 878 வாக்காளர்களில், 2 லட்சத்து 66 ஆயிரத்து 349 பேர் வாக்களித்தனர். இந்த நிலையில் நேற்று நடைபெற்ற வாக்கு எண்ணிக்கையில் அனைத்து சுற்றுகளிலும் த.வெ.க. வேட்பாளர் விக்னேஷ் தொடர்ந்து முன்னிலை பெற்று வந்தார்.
வாக்கு எண்ணிக்கை இறுதியில் 99 ஆயிரத்து 950 வாக்குகள் பெற்ற விக்னேஷ், 11 ஆயிரத்து 710 வாக்குகள் வித்தியாசத்தில் வெற்றி பெற்றார். இதன் மூலம் கோவையில் த.வெ.க. தனது முதல் வெற்றியைப் பதிவு செய்தது.
88 ஆயிரத்து 240 வாக்குகள் பெற்ற தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் சபரி கார்த்திகேயன் இரண்டாம் இடத்தையும், 67 ஆயிரத்து 789 வாக்குகள் பெற்ற அ.தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் செ.தாமோதரன் மூன்றாம் இடத்தையும் பிடித்தனர். இந்தத் தொகுதியில் 4 முறை வெற்றி பெற்ற அ.தி.மு.க. முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் செ.தாமோதரன் மூன்றாவது இடத்திற்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
இந்தத் தொகுதியில் இதற்கு முன்பு நடைபெற்ற தேர்தல்களில் அ.தி.மு.க 9 முறையும், தி.மு.க. 4 முறையும் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளன. குறிப்பாக 2001 ம் ஆண்டு முதல் தொடர்ந்து வெற்றி பெற்று வந்த அ.தி.மு.க-வின் தொடர் வெற்றி முடிவுக்கு வந்துள்ளது.
கோவை சுந்தராபுரம் அருகேயுள்ள மச்சாம்பாளையம் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்தவர் விக்னேஷ் (38). பி.எஸ்.சி. கம்யூட்டர் சயின்ஸ் படித்துள்ள இவர், சிசிடிவி கேமரா விற்பனை கடை நடத்தி வருகிறார். கடந்த 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக விஜய் மக்கள் மன்றத்தில் பணியாற்றி வந்த இவர், த.வெ.க-வில் கோவை தெற்கு மாவட்டச் செயலாளராக இருந்து வருகிறார்.
முதல் முறையாக தேர்தல் களம் கண்ட விக்னேஷ், அ.தி.மு.க. கோட்டையாகக் கருதப்படும் கிணத்துக்கடவு தொகுதியில் அபார வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளார்.
