In the Thiruthani constituency of Thiruvallur district, where Murugan's Arupadai Veedu is located, there is a significant population of Telugu-speaking people. இந்தத் தடவை சிட்டிங் எம்.எல்.ஏவும் தி.மு.க மேற்கு மாவட்டச் செயலாளருமான சந்திரன், சீட் கேட்டு அறிவாலயத்தில் விருப்ப மனு கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். இவரைத் தொடர்ந்து தலைமை செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர் பூபதி உட்பட சிலர் சீட் கேட்டு விருப்ப மனு கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்கள் . அ.தி.மு.க-வைப் பொறுத்தவரை முன்னாள் எம்.எல்.ஏ கோ.ஹரி, ஒன்றியச் செயலாளர் இ.என்.கண்டிகை ரவி ஆகியோர் சீட்டை எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்கள். இவர்களைத் தவிர இந்தத் தொகுதியின் முன்னாள் எம்.எல்.ஏ-வும் சசிகலாவின் தீவிர ஆதரவாளரான பள்ளிப்பட்டு நரசிம்மனும் இந்தத் தேர்தல் களமிறங்க இருக்கிறார். இந்த நிலையில்தான் சசிகலா, சில தினங்களுக்கு முன்பு கட்சிக் கொடியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியவர், இன்று அனைத்திந்திய புரட்சித் தலைவர் மக்கள் முன்னேற்றக் கழகம் என்று கட்சியின் பெயரை அறிவித்திருக்கிறார். அதனால் சசிகலாவின் ஆதரவாளரான நரசிம்மன் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட தீவிரம் காட்டி வருகிறார்.
