Senthil Prabhu, a resident of the Park Town area in Coimbatore, is the district secretary of the Coimbatore district TASMAC CITU trade union. His elder daughter, Anukeerthana (19), studied in the twelfth grade at a private school in the Ettimadai area and had passed with good marks. They also said they would not receive the body until justice is served for the death of student Anu Keerthana. The tahsildar and police, who arrived after being informed about this, held talks with those taking part in the protest.
Speaking then, the student’s father, Senthil Prabhu, said with anguish, “The NEET deaths that began with Anitha should end with my daughter Anu Keerthana. For children who dream of becoming doctors, the NEET exam is causing mental distress. This exam, which has led to the deaths of so many children, should be canceled.” His words moved those present to tears. Officials are continuing talks. The incident of the student taking her own life out of fear of the NEET exam has caused sorrow.
