"The five-year rule of the DMK and the schemes introduced by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will re-establish the DMK's Dravidian model of governance in Tamil Nadu. "We will establish a women's government arts and science college. We will also build a mango pulp factory and a tobacco procurement center. To enhance agriculture, we will create a water channel from the Tenpennai river to the Chetteri dam,"
Water will be supplied for agricultural irrigation. Lakes and ponds will be completely desilted. We also have plans to clean the Jolarpettai lake and develop a park and a boat house. The quality of the Nilgiri hills will be improved, and additional government parks and facilities for tourists will be provided.
"What do you see as the long-standing demand of the people of Jolarpettai?"
There has been a long-standing demand to establish a SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu) in this area for youth employment. Farmers want water to be brought from the Thennapennai river to the Chetteri dam. Government concessions and subsidies should be provided to the workers around Kavitha Thandapanipadi.
A special cancer ward should be established at the Jolarpet Government Hospital. A 24/7 veterinary hospital should be set up in the constituency... All these demands have come to us from the people. "Many projects have been implemented in this constituency under the DMK government, haven't they?" "Yes! A railway road overbridge worth Rs. 29.65 crore has been constructed. Construction work for a road overbridge in Pachur worth Rs. 20.82 crore is underway. A new government arts and science college has been established in the Pachur area, with new buildings constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 crore, and students are currently studying there."
In Ponneri, a site has been selected for the construction of a new government medical college and hospital building valued at Rs. 650 crore, and the next phase of work is underway. “இளைஞர்களின் வேலைவாய்ப்புக்காக இந்த தொகுதியில் சிப்காட் அமைத்து தரவேண்டும் என்கிற கோரிக்கை நீண்டநாளாக உள்ளது. செட்டேரி அணைக்கு தென்பெண்ணை ஆற்றில் இருந்து தண்ணீர் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என விவசாயிகள் நினைக்கிறார்கள்.
பீடி சுற்றும் தொழிலார்களுக்கு அரசு சலுகைகள் மானியங்கள் வழங்கவேண்டும். ஜோலார்பேட்டை அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் புற்றுநோய்க்கான சிறப்பு பிரிவு அமைக்க வேண்டும். தொகுதியில் 24/7 கால்நடை மருத்துவமனை அமைகப்பட வேண்டும்… இந்தக் கோரிக்கைகள் எல்லாம் மக்களிடமிருந்து எங்களுக்கு வந்துள்ளது.”
தி.மு.க ஆட்சியில் இந்த தொகுதிக்கு ஏராளமான திட்டங்கள் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாமே?
“ஆமாம்! ரூ.29.65 கோடி மதிப்பில் ரயில்வே சாலை மேம்பாலம் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. ரூ.20.82 கோடி மதிப்பில் பச்சூர் சாலை மேம்பால கட்டுமானப் பணி நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. பச்சூர் பகுதியில் புதிய அரசு கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியைப் பெற்று ரூ.15 கோடி மதிப்பீட்டில் புதிய கட்டடங்கள் கட்டப்பட்டு தற்போது மாணவ மாணவிகள் பயின்று வருகின்றனர். பொன்னேரியில் ரூ.650 கோடி மதிப்பீட்டில் புதிய அரசு மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் மருத்துவமனைக் கட்டடம் கட்டும் பணிக்கு இடம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு அடுத்த கட்ட பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.”

“மக்களின் பேராதரவுடன் இந்த தொகுதியில் மாபெரும் வெற்றியை ஈட்டுவோம். மகளிர் உரிமை தொகை, பெண்களுக்கான விடியல் பேருந்து, மக்களைத் தேடி மருத்துவம் போன்ற திட்டங்கள் எல்லாம் மக்களிடம் பெரும் ஆதரவை எங்களுக்குப் பெற்றுக் கொடுத்துள்ளன. தி.மு.க-வின் தேர்தல் அறிக்கையே முதல்வர் சொன்னதுபோல், ஹீரோ-ஹீரோயினாக இருப்பதால் எங்கள் வெற்றி எளிது” என்கிறார்.
