Chennai: The Communist Party of India has said that although the Governor’s address in the 17th session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly was constructive, it is disappointing that there was not even a single word about the expectations of working people.
“It is deeply disappointing that there was not even a single word in the Governor’s address about the expectations of working people, including labour welfare, legal rights, wages for a dignified life, and pensions, and that the Governor’s address remained silent on the central government’s four anti-labour legal codes,” it said.
In a statement issued by Communist Party of India State Secretary M. Veerapandian regarding this: “At the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and the Cabinet, the Tamil Thai Vazhthu was pushed to third place and first place was given to the Vande Mataram song, and this breach of tradition was strongly criticized. Taking this into account, in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, the Tamil Thai Vazhthu song was given first place as usual. The Communist Party of India welcomes the restoration of this parliamentary tradition.
It has once again been assured through the Governor’s address that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam will fulfill the promises it made in its election manifesto in the Assembly election.
The Governor’s address has criticized the announcement that Tamil Nadu’s long-standing bilingual policy of Tamil and English will continue to be firmly pursued, as well as the Union government’s insistence on implementing the three-language policy by imposing Hindi, and said that it is not right for the Union government to withhold the Rs. 3,458 crore it owes to Tamil Nadu’s education department on this basis.
The Governor’s address has stated that it shows an interest in expanding archaeological studies on the ancient civilization of the Tamils. Based on the Finance Department’s white paper released the day before yesterday, the Governor’s address reflects an effort to prevent revenue leakages, increase revenue, and provide corruption-free governance. However, while the Governor’s address promises that a new industrial policy will be announced and that business will be made easier (EASE OF DOING BUSINESS), it is deeply disappointing that there is not even a single word in the Governor’s address about the expectations of working people, including labor welfare, legal rights, a living wage, and pension, and that the Governor’s address remains silent on the central government’s four anti-labor legal codes.
The Governor’s address has disappointed the expectations of the working people in rural areas by failing to focus on the demand that the Tamil Nadu government should not accept the V.P. Jigram G scheme, which would deprive rural manual workers, including agricultural laborers, of the legal right to employment they have been receiving for the past 20 years, and that the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme should continue to be implemented.
Contrary to the promise that crop loans of small and marginal farmers with landholding of up to five acres would be fully waived, the loan waiver of up to Rs. 75,000 based on the loan amount does not provide complete relief to farmers. Taking this into account, it should be reconsidered and the election-time promise should be fulfilled.
“The Tamil Nadu State Executive Committee of the Communist Party of India states that the Governor’s address, which shows concern for fulfilling election promises, should also reflect the sentiments of the working people, including farmers, agricultural laborers, unorganized workers, and contract workers,” Veerapandian emphasized.

விவசாயத் தொழிலாளர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட ஊரகப் பகுதி உடல் உழைப்புத் தொழிலாளர்கள் 20 ஆண்டுகளாக பெற்று வந்த சட்டபூர்வ வேலை பெறும் உரிமையை பறிக்கும் வி.பி ஜிகிராம் ஜி திட்டத்தை தமிழக அரசு ஏற்கக் கூடாது, மகாத்மா காந்தி தேசிய ஊரக வேலை உறுதியளிப்புத் திட்டத்தை தொடர்ந்து செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கை மீது ஆளுநர் உரை கவனம் செலுத்தாது ஊரகப் பகுதி உழைக்கும் மக்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்புக்கு ஏமாற்றம் அளித்துள்ளது.
ஐந்து ஏக்கர் வரை நிலம் உள்ள சிறு, குறு விவசாயிகளின் பயிர்கடன் முழுமையாக தள்ளுபடி செய்யப்படும் என்ற வாக்குறுதிக்கு மாறாக, கடன் தொகை அளவை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு ரூ.75 ஆயிரம் வரையான கடன் தள்ளுபடி என்பது விவசாயிகளுக்கு முழு நிவாரணம் அளிக்காது என்பதை கருத்தில் கொண்டு மறு பரிசீலனை செய்து, தேர்தல் கால வாக்குறுதியை நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டும்.
