Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu has opened up about crying after winning the gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Games are being held in Glasgow, Scotland. There, Mirabai Chanu won the gold medal in the women’s 48 kg weightlifting category and impressed everyone. This is India’s first gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
After winning the gold medal, Mirabai Chanu was seen in tears. In this situation, Mirabai Chanu has opened up about the reason she cried.
Speaking about this, he said: I felt that I should do something for India. On the day before the competition, I prepared a national flag ribbon in the shape of butterflies and wore it. After winning the gold medal, when I saw the national flag and heard the national anthem, tears welled up in my eyes without my realizing it. Since I won India its first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, tears of joy flowed from my eyes. I would like to thank everyone who prayed to God for me, he said.
It is noteworthy that Mirabai Chanu, who won the gold medal in the last two Commonwealth Games, won the gold medal for the third consecutive time.
