When he said that the Chief Minister’s attention was focused only on filing false cases against the opposition parties, those gathered there shouted out the name of a famous actress. At that point, he made a remark in a sarcastic tone that could be taken in the wrong sense. This has now become a national-level issue, discussed and condemned in the English media. Someone holding the responsible position of Leader of the Opposition should have avoided speaking in such a double-meaning, mocking manner.

Such an approach of speaking disparagingly about a woman is not appropriate for his political stature. It is not in keeping with civilized politics. He should abandon the emotional, self-forgetful approach driven by the urge to use language that suits the tastes of those around him. The approach that created an understanding in a way that demeans womanhood is condemnable.
