Chennai: The DMK has accused the TVK government of trying to arrest Udhayanidhi Stalin in a false case to hide its incompetence in the Cauvery issue and out of fear of facing the Opposition Leader’s questions in the Assembly. “The DMK can never be silenced through repression,” the party has warned.
In the statement issued by the DMK on this, ‘The TVK government, which is incapable of responding to any of the criticisms raised by the Leader of the Opposition against the TVK government at the protest held for the Cauvery issue, is showing its helplessness by filing a false case. Who is twisting the Leader of the Opposition’s remarks on the Cauvery issue, made without mentioning anyone’s name, into “obscene speech” and “double-meaning speech”?
These are the very same gang that has suddenly taken on the guise of “anti-obscenity crusaders” — the dash-dash chief minister who speaks obscenely, saying things like, “It’ll come out nicely through the mouth,” “What am I, some ….va for showing off sex appeal?” and “Not even a dash,” minister Jagadeeswari who says she would “beat even her own party worker in the police station wearing just underwear,” C.D. Nirmalkumar, the “many-party-switching” one who portrayed Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s daughter obscenely, and TVK, a den of criminals arrested every day in sexual assault cases.
If you compile the double-meaning lines and obscene scenes in sofa model Chief Minister Vijay’s films and songs, it would become a huge warehouse of obscenity. Is Vijay, who entered politics and in the film he announced as his last, spoke filthy words without hesitation, the moral police?
The TVK, which did not even express condemnation to BJP state secretary Nainar Nagendran for directly linking this same Vijay with an actress, has now held a protest condemning the Leader of the Opposition.
TVK, which does not dare to protest against the Governor and the Union government for pushing Tamil Thai Vazhthu aside and imposing Vande Mataram, and against the Maharashtra police for arresting farmers who went to Delhi to protest against the BJP government minister who said, “Tamil Nadu’s approval is not needed to build the Mekedatu dam,” is protesting only against the Leader of the Opposition.
Yesterday, a complaint; today, a desperate attempt to arrest the Leader of the Opposition. Even after the victim herself accused him of being “the one who protected the criminals who drugged her drink and sexually assaulted her,” the fascist TVK government, which lacks the courage to take action against Srivaikuntam MLA Saravanan, is rushing to arrest the Leader of the Opposition.
Does the TVK government, which pushed back half a century of rights struggles and acted helplessly on the Cauvery issue, have the guts to answer any of the accusations raised by the Leader of the Opposition?
The fascist TVK government has arrested him out of fear that it will not be able to answer any questions raised by the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly session beginning tomorrow. Arrests cannot cripple either our youth wing secretary or the great movement called the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
DMK is a movement that has seen countless arrests, prison torture, and repression. We will defeat the fascist TVK government and restore democracy once again,” said the DMK.
