In the 5th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) cricket tournament, iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans defeated Chepauk Super Gillies by 7 wickets on Friday.
Batting first, Chepauk scored 205 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, and Tiruppur chased it down with 206 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 18 overs to win. As the first player to score a century in the current season, Tiruppur’s Tushar Raheja earned the distinction and was named Player of the Match.
Earlier, Tiruppur won the toss and chose to field. Ashik smashed 98 runs with 6 boundaries and 7 sixes, narrowly missing out on a century. Captain Narayan Jagadeesan departed for 27 runs, with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Waseem Ahmed was dismissed for 16 with 3 boundaries, Dinesh Raj for 12 with 1 boundary and 1 six, Mohan Prasad for 1, Abhishek Tanwar for 0, and Ram Aravind for 0.

In the end, Pradosh led the team to victory with an unbeaten 73, including 9 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Mohamed Anee supported him with 1 run. Among Chepauk’s bowlers, Vignesh took 3 wickets.
Nellai win: Meanwhile, in the 6th match, Nellai Royal Kings defeated Dindigul Dragons by 6 wickets on Friday.
Batting first, Dindigul scored 170 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, while Nellai chased it down with 172 for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.4 overs to win.
