A controversy has arisen because the signboard of a government bus operating in Chennai displayed the phrase 'Tomato Victory Association'.
The signboard of the government bus operated from the Chennai Adyar depot was glowing with the phrase Tomato Victory Association in lights.
This had shocked those who saw it. Many recorded it on video and shared it on their social media accounts.
Many had questioned how such a major error occurred on the signboard of a government bus.
At this point, the nameboard issue came to the attention of the Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation. The MTC has immediately issued an explanation. In it, it noted that a few days ago, the digital nameboard had been changed by unidentified persons.
In the clarification issued by the transport corporation, a photograph of that bus was attached, and the route board of the bus they referred to had been altered in this manner by unidentified persons a few days earlier.
Immediately, the concerned depot officials were informed, and the route board was corrected.
Furthermore, it has been stated that the necessary precautionary and monitoring measures are being taken so that such incidents do not occur again in the future.
