Chennai: After the general budget was presented in the Legislative Assembly yesterday, an official review meeting was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar. The budget debate and reply speech will be held for 4 days. On the 7th (tomorrow), condolences will be expressed for the passing of former MLAs and prominent personalities. After that, the debate on departmental grant demands and the ministers' reply speeches will be held from Aug. 17 to Sept. 8. In this, Chief Minister Vijay's reply speech will take place on Sept. 7.

Some members have requested that their seats be changed. According to the rules, if they contest and win on the symbol of an alliance party, they will be considered members of that party. Seats and speaking time will be allotted accordingly. If they had won on a separate symbol, they would be allowed to speak separately.
