The central government has extended the tenure of Enforcement Directorate Director Rahul Navin by one year.
Rahul Navin, a 1993-batch Indian Revenue Service officer, has 30 years of experience in tax assessment and financial fraud investigations.
He has been serving as the Director of the Enforcement Directorate since Aug. 14, 2024. In this situation, the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved extending his tenure until Aug. 13 next year.
A person can be appointed as the Director of the Enforcement Directorate for two years as per the rules. After that, the tenure can be extended three times, by one year each time.
