The Tamil Nadu Pickle Ball Premier League (TNPBL) Season 2 tournament series was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The TNPBL trophy and website were launched at an event in Chennai. League Director K. Yogesh presided over the function. Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association President K. Mohit Kumar was present in the chair. Secretary Kavya Somesh explained the tournament series.
Actor and team owner Vikram unveiled the tournament trophy. The owners of all 12 teams, including actresses Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Keerthy Pandian, also took part.
Regarding the league, Secretary Kavya Somesh said: The first season was conducted in the usual manner. With the aim of taking pickleball across the state, the second season includes 12 teams. Each team will have 14 players. In total, 168 players will be in the player pool.
A total of Rs. 36 lakh has been allocated for the players’ auction. Each team has an auction amount of Rs. 3 lakh.
The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority and the Pickleball Association are working together to create infrastructure facilities. If there is one tennis court, four pickleball courts can be set up on it.
League begins on Sept. 17:
He said that the second season of the TNPL league will be held at Chennai Express Avenue complex from Sept. 17 to 20.
