Both countries have agreed to swiftly resolve the pending issues on the India-China border.
Bilateral diplomatic talks on India-China border issues were held in Delhi on Thursday. During the talks, key issues related to border delimitation, management, and cooperation, as well as the overall situation along the border, were discussed in detail.
In this regard, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release issued on Friday:
Outstanding border issues were discussed openly, and the border situation was reviewed. Both sides emphasized that maintaining peace along the border is essential for the overall improvement of bilateral relations.
It was agreed to quickly resolve border issues through diplomatic and military-level talks and to avoid misunderstandings and miscalculations.
The press release stated that India also emphasized the need to quickly convene a meeting of the expert group on rivers flowing across the border and to share details of upstream infrastructure projects being undertaken on these rivers.
