Singai Ramachandran, who had been the state secretary of AIADMK’s IT wing, left the party last month and today met Chief Minister Vijay and joined TVK.
Singai Ramachandran had been serving as the AIADMK’s student wing secretary and also as the head of the party’s information technology wing. The son of Singai Govindaraj, a former mill worker turned successful entrepreneur, Singai Ramachandran was fielded by AIADMK in the Coimbatore constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, where he contested against then BJP state president Annamalai and DMK candidate P. Ganapathi Rajkumar.
Ganapathi won with 5,68,200 votes, while Annamalai finished second with 4,50,132 votes, and Singai Ramachandran, who received 2,36,490 votes, came in third. After that, he did not get the opportunity to contest in the recently held election.
Singai Ramachandran, who resigned on July 23 from all the posts he currently held in the AIADMK as well as from the party’s primary membership, met Chief Minister Vijay and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam today (Aug. 11).
