For the past few weeks in Chennai, heavy rain has been falling in the evenings or at night. Today, on the first day of the week, the sun had been blazing since morning, but by 4 p.m., dark clouds had gathered and given the sun a break.
Those who saw the scorching heat would have surely thought there would be rain this evening. Just as expected, though in an unexpected way, the rain arrived by 4 p.m., like a school bell ringing.
Before those who were talking about how fiercely the sun was beating down could even catch their breath, the rain began pouring down with a loud roar.
In Chennai, rain is falling widely across areas including Royapettah, Thousand Lights, Teynampet, and Triplicane.
Likewise, as if they were only Chennai’s suburban areas, the rain has shown no discrimination. Rain is falling in Chennai’s Poonamallee, Kattupakkam, Ayyappan Thangal, Kumananchavadi, Chembarambakkam, Nazarathpet, Ambattur, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Avadi, Thirumullaivoyal, Pattabiram, and Thiruninravur areas.
