Mumbai: Despite the ongoing crisis in West Asia, the rupee rose by 13 paise to settle at Rs. 95.15 against the dollar in today’s foreign exchange trade, following the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to keep the key policy interest rate unchanged for the third consecutive time in the 2026-27 financial year.
Foreign exchange traders said that the decline in crude oil prices and the weakening of the dollar in overseas markets strengthened investor confidence. In addition, the fall in US Treasury yields also helped the rupee gain value.
