Palani temple land fraud case: CBCID investigation report filed in the High Court

Madurai: The CB-CID investigation report in the Palani temple land fraud case was filed in the High Court. The government side objected to providing a copy of the report to those who had filed petitions seeking a CBI investigation.

AIADMK former MLA Venugopal Senathipathi, Thandayuthapani Swamigal Mutt trustee Annapoorani Sivakumar, and Palani DMK municipal chairperson Uma Maheswari filed petitions in the Madurai Bench of the High Court seeking to transfer the case related to the fraudulent registration of Rs. 100 crore worth of land belonging to the Palani temple in the names of private individuals to the CBI.

According to the petitions, 1.35 acres of land belonging to the Palani temple has been fraudulently registered. For this registration, the truth was concealed, and a case was filed in the High Court to obtain an order.

While the regular sub-registrar was on leave, the registration was carried out using the acting sub-registrar. In connection with this fraud, several people, including the district registrar, office assistant, and regular sub-registrar, need to be questioned.

Therefore, they had stated that the CBCID investigation should be stayed and the inquiry should be transferred to the CBI.

This petition came up for hearing today before the bench of Judges C.V. Karthikeyan and R. Sakthivel. On behalf of the petitioners, lawyers Marees Kumar, Veera Kathiravan, and Ravindran argued.

On the government side, the CB-CID investigation report in the land fraud case was submitted to the court in a sealed envelope.

It was argued that if the details of the investigation report are provided to the petitioners, the investigation will be affected. Therefore, the government requested that a copy of the investigation report not be given to the petitioners. Following this, the judges adjourned the hearing to Aug. 12.

மனுக்களில், பழநி கோயிலுக்கு சொந்தமான 1.35 ஏக்கர் நிலம் முறைகேடாக பத்திரப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த பதிவுக்காக உண்மையை மறைத்து உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடரப்பட்டு உத்தரவு பெற்றுள்ளனர்.

வழக்கமான சார் பதிவாளர் விடுமுறையில் சென்ற நிலையில் பொறுப்பு சார் பதிவாளரை வைத்து பத்திரப்பதிவு நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. இந்த மோசடி தொடர்பாக மாவட்ட பதிவாளர், அலுவலக உதவியாளர், வழக்கமான சார் பதிவாளர் என பலரிடம் விசாரணை நடத்த வேண்டியதுள்ளது.

இதனால் சிபிசிஐடி விசாரணைக்கு தடை விதித்து, விசாரணையை சிபிஐக்கு மாற்றி உத்தரவிட வேண்டும் எனக் கூறியிருந்தனர்.

இந்த மனு நீதிபதிகள் சி.வி.கார்த்திகேயன், ஆர்.சக்திவேல் அமர்வில் இன்று விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது. மனுதார்கள் சார்பில் வழக்கறிஞர்கள் மாரீஸ்குமார், வீரா கதிரவன், ரவீந்திரன் வாதிட்டனர்.

அரசு தரப்பில், நில மோசடி வழக்கின் சிபிசிஐடி விசாரணை அறிக்கை மூடி முத்திரையிட்ட உறையில் வைத்து நீதிமன்றத்தில் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டது.

தொடர்ந்து விசாரணை அறிக்கை விவரங்களை மனுதாரர்களுக்கு வழங்கினால் விசாரணை பாதிக்கப்படும். இதனால் விசாரணை அறிக்கை நகல் மனுதாரர்களுக்கு வழங்க வேண்டாம் என அரசு தரப்பில் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து விசாரணையை ஆக.12-க்கு நீதிபதிகள் ஒத்திவைத்தனர்.
