“No religion permits the killing of innocents” - Omar Abdullah condemns the Kulgam massacre

Srinagar: Following the killing of two Hindus by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the incident, saying that no religion permits the killing of innocent people.

Speaking to reporters on the matter, Omar Abdullah said, “This killing is extremely unfortunate. This should not have happened. No religion permits the killing of innocent people like this. There are no words strong enough to condemn this. It is expected that the security forces will ensure protection so that such attacks do not happen again.

The families of the two migrant workers who were killed will be given compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each. This assistance will be provided in addition to the Rs. 6 lakh immediate financial aid already announced by the district administration,” he said.

2 youths from Chhattisgarh shot dead:

Deepak Rathre (24) from Shakti district in Chhattisgarh state and Bhupendra Baina (28) from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district were shot dead by terrorists while working at a brick kiln in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Before being shot dead, Deepak Rathre was asked which state he was from and what religion he belonged to, and he was shot only after it was confirmed that he was a Hindu from Chhattisgarh, his brother Manoj said.

Earlier, it is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government announced that compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each would be provided to the families of the two workers who were shot dead by militants.
