Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in Parliament that the central government has no scheme to waive the loans of small and marginal farmers.
In his written reply to various questions related to the finance department, he further said: The Reserve Bank of India has proposed a pilot project to issue Rs. 10 and Rs. 20 notes printed on polymer. A total of 100 crore such notes are to be printed.
If the pilot project is successful, printing of currency notes on polymer will be expanded. The central government has approved this scheme because polymer will be superior to paper in various ways.
There is no scheme with the Central Government to waive the loans of small and marginal farmers just once. Likewise, there is no loan restructuring scheme either, he said.
