Revenue Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan has said that Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is clear in his policy decision on the NEET issue.

Speaking to reporters at Coimbatore airport, Minister Sengottaiyan responded to questions on issues including the rejection of the metro project, the NEET exam, and the Mekedatu dam.

In response to a question about the rejection of the Coimbatore metro rail project, he said that as far as the Chief Minister is concerned, the position is that metro rail should be developed in the cities of Coimbatore and Madurai. He added that letters have also been submitted to the Prime Minister regarding this.

Furthermore, responding to a question about the Assembly Secretary’s statement that Edappadi Palaniswami should explain the resignation of four MLAs from the AIADMK, he said that letters have been sent for the Speaker to directly conduct an inquiry in the presence of Edappadi Palaniswami into the resignation of the four MLAs, and that the Speaker will take the necessary decisions.

Regarding the question about the NEET protest, he said, “Those are feelings that each person has. As far as the NEET exam is concerned, the Chief Minister is clear about our party’s policy decision. With the intention of running the government in the right manner, he has expressed those feelings to the Prime Minister. He has also told the Prime Minister that the NEET exam is affecting students in Tamil Nadu.”

In response to a question regarding the protest held by Namakkal revenue department officials, he said, “There will be different shortcomings in every department for those working in each one. Our anti-corruption department’s practice is to inspect one department at a time, district by district, to see what is happening across all departments. They have been doing that. Those taking part in the protest should have raised their grievances with the secretary of that department.”

In response to a question about TVK’s stance on the Mekedatu issue, he said, “As far as the Mekedatu dam is concerned, they should not even lay a single brick. It is a policy decision that I will not allow it.”

In response to a question about the Tamil Nadu budget, he said the budget is a secret. Ask questions after the budget.

மேக்கேதாட்டு விவகாரத்தில் தவெக நிலைப்பாடு தொடர்பான கேள்விக்கு, ”மேக்கேதாட்டு அணையை பொருத்தவரை ஒரு செங்கலைகூட அவர்கள் எடுத்து வைக்கக் கூடாது. அதனை அனுமதிக்க மாட்டேன் என்பது கொள்கை முடிவு” என்றார்.
