There was commotion after passengers pulled the emergency alarm chain, claiming that there was a snake on a local train heading towards Mumbai.

The train was immediately stopped on Friday after passengers claimed there was a snake in the women’s compartment of a local train heading towards Mumbai in Maharashtra, prompting them to pull the emergency alarm chain. This caused the train to be delayed by 12 minutes during peak rush hour.

The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. near Nahur railway station after the train departed from Thane station. Upon receiving the information, railway officials carried out intensive checks in the train coach. However, officials confirmed that no snake was found during the inspection.

The Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway said, "No snake was found, but passengers panicked because several women claimed to have seen it." Officials said the train resumed its journey after the necessary checks were completed.

Subsequently, the train was also inspected at Kurla railway station. But nothing was found there either, a Railway Protection Force officer said.

மத்திய ரயில்வேயின் தலைமை மக்கள் தொடர்பு அதிகாரி கூறுகையில், "பாம்பு எதுவும் கிடைக்கவில்லை, ஆனால் பல பெண்கள் அதை பார்த்ததாகக் கூறியதால் பயணிகள் பீதியடைந்தனர்" என்றார். தேவையான சோதனைகள் நிறைவடைந்த பிறகு ரயில் தனது பயணத்தைத் தொடர்ந்ததாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
