The Mecca Agreement is an agreement signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey on August 7.
Why this agreement?
In a joint statement issued by the three countries regarding this agreement, "This agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any acts of aggression.
Furthermore, an armed attack carried out on any one of the three countries will be considered an attack on all three countries.

Moreover, it was stated that this also paves the way for enhancing security cooperation across all sectors among these three countries."
Besides this, nothing has been explicitly stated about this agreement. Because of this, it is not clearly known whether the other two countries will come to the aid of any one of these three countries if it is attacked in any way.
What kind of question is this... If you think that the other two countries will come to help in the event of any kind of attack, then you should remember the 2025 agreement.
In September 2025, a similar Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement (SMDA) was signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Iran attacked Saudi Arabia in the Iran war... Afghan Taliban attacked Pakistan. But in neither of these two incidents did the two countries come to each other’s aid. That is why the question mentioned above arises.

Is it a threat to India?
Since Pakistan is part of this agreement, it is only natural for this question to arise.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are long-time friendly nations. Both countries are Islamic countries as well. Both are included in this agreement that has now been reached.
In this context, there has not been any major issue for either India or Saudi Arabia.
Trade between the two countries amounted to $41,877.63 million in the 2024-25 financial year. Relations between the two countries remain cordial.
Still, there are things India should pay attention to regarding Saudi Arabia...
India buys oil from Saudi Arabia. Many Indians work there. Therefore, amid Pakistan’s friendship, India must maintain its relationship with Saudi Arabia.
This can also be taken as an alarm that India should further strengthen its friendship with the Gulf countries.

Issues such as the Kashmir dispute and cross-border terrorism between India and Pakistan continue to persist. As Pakistan moves closer to the Gulf countries, this could create a sense of isolation for India on the international stage.
India should strengthen its ties not only with the Gulf countries but also with other nations around the world. That would be beneficial to India in every way.
