The incident in which ink was thrown at All India Students’ Association leader Neha Bora during the Jharkhand question paper leak protest has caused a stir.
The state student organization has said that if its demands are not met, it plans to march toward the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on August 10.
More than a hundred students, along with young people supporting them, have been staging an indefinite protest at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi since July 25, alleging that question papers were leaked and irregularities took place in the examinations conducted for recruitment to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and other posts.
They are insisting that the 14th Jharkhand PSC Civil Services Examination be canceled and that an independent inquiry be conducted into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment exam, either by the CBI or by a committee comprising retired High Court judges from outside the state.
Despite the heavy rain that has been falling in Ranchi city over the past few days, thousands of students have been protesting, and members of the All India Students’ Association have also joined the protest in support of them.
As this protest has reached its 14th day, six people have been on an indefinite hunger strike. Moreover, no progress has been made in any talks with the Jharkhand government.
Expressing support for the students, the left-wing organizations, the All India Students Federation and the All India Students’ Association, joined the protest and took part in a march near Birsa Chowk toward the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.
In this situation, the incident of an ink attack on All India Students' Association president Neha Bora has caused a major stir. While members of the All India Students' Association have alleged that the person who threw the ink was from the BJP, the police have arrested the attacker.
